About Us

In 1992, with their love for period design, Mary and Graham Jinks opened their first shop, The Grate Revival. Based in Tyseley, Birmingham they curated a store filled with a selection of fireplaces, lighting and home accessories. Finding joy in restoring these antique pieces, Mary and Graham built the business in to a popular haunt for interior lovers and collectors alike. Whilst in the Midlands, they worked with many interior designers and were featured on TV Shows such as Changing Rooms, Our House and Million Pound House Project.

 

Aspiring for more of a laid back life in the country, they moved The Grate Revival to South Devon in 2009 and set up shop in Churchstow Business Park. Not long after, Mary and Graham’s children, Jess and Joe, moved to Devon and joined the business. After much demand, they soon added wood-burners and stoves to their inventory and created sister company, GMJ Chimney Services to undertake the installation and servicing side of things.

 

At the end of 2021, Mary and Graham both retired and passed the business’ onto Jess and Joe, who hope to continue the family legacy and have big plans to continue its growth and development for years to come.
